Job Description:
The Market Development Geo team of the WiMAX Programme Office (WPO) is looking for a Market Development Manager (MDM) to influence service providers (SPs) to deploy commercial WiMAX networks in Russia, CIS and Central & Eastern Europe. The MDM will closely work with the geo WPO team, the local Sales & Marketing Group (SMG) field team, (COMPANY NAME) Capital, Governments Affairs and the World Ahead team to get WiMAX networks launched and drive bundle activities in cooperation with SMG.
In this position, the candidate will need to:
- Develop a WiMAX strategic plan for his region with all the internal stakeholders - Develop executive traction with local or regional SPs, regulators, governments and non-governmental organizations - Drive customer visits and deliver executive presentations - Understand the SPs strategic fit with WiMAX, influence them to invest into the technology and close agreements - Provide support to (COMPANY NAME)'s SPs and other eco-system partners including Telecom Equipment Vendors, OEMs, ODMs, regulators and non-governmental organizations - Work with the field sales team and coordinate resolution of customer's business and technical questions and/or issues with the help of WPO resources: business modeling, technical support, product management and marketing including bundle activities in cooperation with SMG - Update and review strategic plan and objectives by country - Frequent travels required
Candidate Requirements:
The candidate should be a senior professional with a track record in the telecom industry including a solid and proven experience with building executive relationships with telecom operators at CxO level and beyond the CTO Office, WiMAX equipment vendors, investors, regulators and possibly non governmental organizations. A deep understanding of spectrum allocation processes and experience of working with Ministries of Telecommunications as well as knowledge of the wireless technologies ? such as WiMAX and WLAN, the wireless market and the associated business models and ecosystem - are a definite plus.
The candidate needs to show leadership & excellent communication skills, comfort with interacting with executive and senior management on a regular basis and driving customer engagements. Further, the candidate must be able to demonstrate skills necessary in customer/supplier interactions and business negotiations. Successful candidate should have strong and proven negotiation skills and business acumen. MS in Computer Science, MBA preferred. Fluent Russian and English are required
