Job Description:

Our company, BIGBOX RED, is a small business development company based in Barcelona. We help starting e-commerce companies from scratch and are involved in the design of their strategic, financial and marketing plans. Our intervention is also practical as we typically work on-site to make sure that our recommendations yield fast results.

Over the duration of your internship, you will be working on at least 3 different projects:


Project number 1: ULYZ

ULYZ is a European web retailer of inflatable boats. The current lines of products includes inflatable boats, fishing boats and rigid inflatable boats, which are already sold in 10 countries. Our objective is to set up a direct sales channel in every European country and develop and execute a Marketing Plan for every country ULYZ is active in.


Project number 2: FMT Bikes

FMT Bikes is the European master distributor for a range of ultra-light electric bicycles. The products enjoy excellent penetration in the UK, Spain and Italy. The project here is to develop strategies and apply them in order to successfully penetrate the German, French Scandinavian and Central-European markets.


Project number 3: LazyBikes

LazyBikes is a new low-cost brand of electric bikes. The current line of products includes folding electric bicycles, classic electric bikes and basic e-bikes. Our objective is to set up online sales across Europe through multiple channels.


As we are in the process of accepting new projects, it is very likely that you will work on other consulting missions as well. Examples of past projects we worked on are:
- the development of a wholesaler of supplies for the piercing and tattoo industry. They import all the equipment necessary to run a studio and distribute their products to over 600 retailers in Spain, France, Italy and Portugal. Bigbox Red was involved with BodyArte's growth since the company's creation in 2003. We transformed BodyArte from a fax and telephone order company to an e-commerce company.
- creating a marketing and growth strategy for a very successful Spanish internet community concept that wanted to expand all over Europe

In all the above described projects, your tasks will be the following:

Assistance with planning and coordinating the marketing activities in the designated European markets:
o Elaborate competitive analysis
o Conduct research to find the best advertising space
o Define marketing guidelines and budgets and adapt to the various countries
o Create and implement direct sales channel
o Analyze and measure the success of the marketing activities
o Registration of the products according to EU regulation
o Compiling address lists of potential clients
o Design and plan marketing activities for the designated market
o Create and translate marketing material
o Execution and coordination of promotions
o Analysis and measurement of success of marketing activities
o Establish contact with clients and determine their needs
o Create database of standard replies to customer enquires
o Develop new sales channels for the different brands we support
o Run adword campaigns for the different business units



Type of internship:
This internship is unpaid, but provides you with hands-on experience in a rapidly growing consulting company. If you have to do this internship in connection with your studies, we will assist you with any documentation you might need to get credits for it.

Monday to Friday:                        10:00 - 18:00

September 2009 - April 2010 (these dates are flexible)
