Tcms safety engineer for our västerås site

the tcms safety engineer is responsible for the implementation of the bt ppc tcms safety strategy and deployment program for assigned projects and products. this means to establish safety plans and day to day generation of safety documentation within all tcms product development projects but also continuous improvement of local safety processes and templates to meet and develop future tcms safety objectives.

responsible for:
implementation of the bt ppc tcms safety strategy and deployment programs (safety cases) for assigned projects and products, specifically: 
* development and management of safety requirements
* safety performance monitoring and reporting
* identification and management of safety related risks in product development projects
* establish detailed plans and controls to meet project and product objectives
* safety activities and deliverables, appropriate to the required integrity requirements.
* ensure system integrity issues are resolved in support of program (safety case) milestones and delivery schedule.
* to support the day-to-day generation of safety documentation
* provide guidance to team members and review of documents produced by them.
* check and validation of all safety documentation
* own safety document creations
* continuously improve local development processes and templates
* support process owners to ensure that process specific safety requirements are covered
* contribute to meet and develop future tcms safety objectives
* interface with other technical functions, management, customers and suppliers at all levels

Candidate Requirements:

The safety engineer has the following authorities: 
* to participate in the tcms safety core team meetings 
* to call for any kind of safety focused meeting related to vappc tcms scope of hw/sw products & components 
* to gather concerned parties within the division for safety discussion, information, awareness sessions, training's etc. 
* to call for safety focused project meetings within projects with safety requirements 
* to review and evaluate safety plans, quality plans and other safety related documentation 
* to review and initiate change requests 
* to propose functional safety solutions and distribute these for tcms ccb and safety core team approval 
* to have direct communication to external safety auditors 
* to support project gate reviews together with pqa (product quality assurance manager) and team leader quality assurance (tlqa) 
* to issue a "temporary freeze" of a vappc project delivery and escalate this as an urgent issue if it does not fulfil the safety requirements stated in the project safety plan 
* to continuously propose safety process improvements to make the working processes as effective as possible  it is essential that you have a background in safety engineering and with either software or hardware technical experience as well
