Job Description:

function:
this is a challenging role in the wss messaging hub application development team; providing opportunity to gain experience across multiple platforms and business areas.  the principle responsibilities of the role would be two fold dependent on project size and demands, covering both business systems analysis at a project level and leading a project aligned application development team, taking responsibility and ownership of technology deliverables.  the role is performed for the technology group and involves working with both business and technology stakeholders to achieve effective solutions to operational problems and new business opportunities.  the role requires exemplary communication skills and management of remote teams both within jpmc and with outsourced vendors.

the functions performed depending on project size, may be just project lead or analysis.  however the role demands the candidate should be capable and able to adapt to perform both functions.

specific responsibilities: 
* project deliverable management, tracking and reporting.
* ensure effective and timely status is communicated upwards through the technology management structure
* feed into programme reporting requirements where necessary. 
* management of messaging hub staff throughout the project lifecycle.
* jpmc staff.
* near and remote contract staff.
* roles and responsibilities of the staff cover technology based deliverables covering requirement gathering through to implementation and support.
* understanding and adapting to a changing business landscape and the resulting project impacts.
* in conjunction with the project team, provide time and resource estimation for project deliverables.
* effectively manage and communicate project risks and issues
* ensure all projects are planned, managed and delivered within agreed budget, or where necessary budget re-planning is performed with stakeholders.
* maintain a good understanding of the project, and functionality being delivered.
* this should be to a level which can be presented to business managers and project stakeholders
* this should be to a level which allows for liaison between application development and business partners to aid in requirement and build understanding
* ensure that technology project deliverables meet internally agreed quality standard and checkpoint.
* to maintain professional, and effective communication with both project team, dependent / impacted technology teams, stakeholders, business partners, operations and clients.
* works with the business team and technology teams to understand the project requirements
* translate functional requirements into systems requirements
* produce and maintain requirement traceability matrix to ensure all requirements are tracked and met.
* responsible for ensuring the system tests are planned and executed in line with business requirements.
* perform and communicate testing exit reviews with the business
* manage requirement change throughout a project

Candidate Requirements:

personal requirements       
* excellent written and verbal communication skills
* prior project management experience: project management qualifications (pmp, prince) advantageous.
* previous experience as an analyst in a similar role: industry standard analytical qualifications advantageous.
* knowledge of uml and use cases, for representing and capturing requirements.
* previous exposure to b2b banking, from a technology perspective.
* knowledge of enterprise messaging systems, and solutions.
* knowledge of implementing systems utilising some or all of the following core technologies.  o        websphere mq
o        websphere message broker
o        java / j2ee
o        oracle
o        unix 
* good organisational skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision
* experience of working with vendors, and external clients
* knowledge of financial markets messaging, and standards would be advantageous
* knowledge of the securities industry, institutional banking and financial products highly advantageous
