(COMPANY NAME) world wide securites services, a division of (COMPANY NAME) chase, provides asset management, custody, and accounting services to institutional investors, and there is an open role for an application developer who is skilled in the adabas natural development environment.

the tower the successful candidate will work within provides application development  for the asset servicing applications used by the wss global custody operations areas.  the team acts as the single point of contact for all application development associated with these applications.  it is responsible  for design, analysis, development, coding, testing, debuging and documentation to satisfy business requirements.  using standard (COMPANY NAME) technologies and communication methods, share necessary information through clear and concise communication, both technical and non-technical within the tower and with our clients.

designs, develops, codes, tests, debugs and documents programming applications to satisfy requirements from one or more user areas. typically provides 24-hour daily production and technical support to assigned systems. provides comprehensive consultation to business unit and it management and staffs at the highest technical level. works closely with client management to identify and specify complex business requirements and processes. researches and evaluates alternative solutions and makes recommendations.

key responsibilities:
the successful candidate will be responsible for small to medium sized pieces of work, either as a stand alone item or as part of a larger project. this responsibility will include the following activities. 
* initial investigation, solution identification, and sizing.
* requirements management and high level design.
* detailed design and specification for construction by yourself or another team member.
* build and unit test against specifications.
* system test planning and system test execution.
* uat support and progress tracking.
* implementation and warranty support

Candidate Requirements:

Key skills: 
* proficient in application development in adabas natural development environments or such like.
* high level of personal commitment to each task, a can do attitude and a drive to deliver.
* ability to pitch communication at different audiences appropriately, from technical colleagues to managers in the business.
* a strong desire to build teams across all groups involved with an item of work.  experience (required): 
* software development experience required.
* experience of working with financial services applications incl global custody.
* general understanding of the software development lifecycle.  experience (desirable): 
* microsoft access
* experience of distributed technologies would also be an advantage, particulary vb, wmb, java, oracle, solaris, aix, and websphere.
