Job Description:
Job Purpose:
The Compliance Technology team requires an experienced Senior Business Analyst to work on a new strategic EMEA Anti Monetary Laundering (AML) surveillance system. Work will involve interaction with several technology groups, together with business and operations areas. The individual will gain a detailed understanding of the AML Mantas product being utilised. They will need to perform analysis of target data to identify and resolve data issues that impact the effectiveness of the AML solution/product. In order to deliver these projects, the successful candidate will need excellent analytical skills and the ability to quickly learn the data flows and structures within Citi. They will need drive and commitment to co-ordinate work effort to achieve required project objectives.
The candidate will report directly to the Project Manager with Compliance Technology, and will specialize in AML/Other Compliance related projects within the team.
Job Background/context:
The Compliance Department provides an independent control function to ensure that all business activities comply with Regulatory requirements. This includes Anti-Money Laundering, Trade Monitoring and Surveillance, and Regulatory reporting to external organizations.
Compliance Technology is responsible for compliance related systems development and support across all businesses. The Mantas vendor product will be utilized for generating AML alerts to be monitored by central operations hub and local in-country resources. New strategic compliance/AML programs have been initiated to develop and deliver consistent AML monitoring across Citi. Work will include analysis and mapping of data, and delivery to a centralized AML monitoring system (using Mantas)
There are numerous other significant Compliance-related development projects underway or planned, some of which are global in scope and some of which are specific to the EMEA region, and an experienced Technology Project Manager is required to coordinate and deliver required solutions to Client satisfaction.
The successful candidate must be able to operate at a high level but also understand the complex business processes and applications environment at detail level.
Key Responsibilities: * Understand business data and required data structures across the technology systems * Review data quality in support of configuration and performance testing of the Mantas AML solution * Use analytical skills to identify how business requirements can be implemented * Coordinate/Manage AML Project activities involving multiple technology teams, and help coordinate activities of AML technology team * Gain an in-depth knowledge of the Mantas product to thoroughly understand the interaction between data mart and other system components * Assist with troubleshooting and issue resolution * Manage the communication of data requirements through the development life-cycle and provide an assessment of the viability of executing required AML scenarios * Communicate effectively with the appropriate business areas and management * Establish strong working relationships in order to coordinate changes across different business areas * Plan and keep track of project deliverables; identify issues and take steps to mitigate them * Assist the Project Manager in team and system management activities * Provide ongoing support after implementation, whilst working on new enhancements and additional phases Key Relationships: * Report to the Compliance Technology Project Manager * Work closely with the GTS business and operations area covering AML monitoring * Work with other technology areas including: Global Information Warehouse, systems providing the source data across EMEA. * Work with Mantas technology consultants to gain a detailed systems understanding of the product Development Value: * Excellent opportunity to work on significant key initiative work in Compliance Technology and to increase knowledge base covering different business areas * The position will enable the person to work closely with a number of different Citi business and technology areas. * They will be able to demonstrate strong business and systems analysis, and system life-cycle experience. This will be key to the successful delivery of required projects. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to challenge existing processes and to identify improvements
Candidate Requirements:
Knowledge/Experience: * Exceptional and verbal communication skills * Ability to convey technical functionality to a non-technical audience * Proven experience of understanding large complex systems * Good Systems/Business Analyst and Project Coordination skills * Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into technical requirements * Detailed understanding of database modeling and data warehousing principles * Work experience on AML/KYC applications * Working experience and business knowledge in Consumer/Corporate Banking. Skills: * Databases: Good relational database experience, e.g. Oracle, Sybase, SQLServer. Oracle., Access DB, Spreadsheet macros * SQL: Good SQL knowledge and other standard database query tools. * Mantas product / other AML experience useful * Other (useful to have some of the following): * AML experience, Mantas product * Analytic Tools / Statistical Analysis / SAS * Working knowledge of software engineering disciplines and technologies: e.g. C , Java, HTML, Experience of data mining products, UNIX Qualifications:
Technical or business related degree
