Internship - investment consulting

mercer is a leading global provider of investment consulting services, and offers customised guidance at every stage of the investment decision, risk management and investment monitoring process.

intern positions with mercer are a fantastic opportunity for candidates who have reached the academic equivalent of penultimate year university study to get a taste of working for a multinational consulting firm.  interns join us for a structured 8 week programme running from the beginning of july to the end of august.  all work is supervised and interns are assigned buddies to help them with day-to-day work queries.

key duties for interns within investment consulting include: 
* assisting in providing quarterly investment monitoring reports
* performing calculations and running models to assist in the development of investment strategies and manager structures
* undertaking investment manager research and being involved in project work related to the assessment of managers
* dealing with day-to-day client queries

Candidate Requirements:

* A sound mathematical background is essential
* A minimum of 320 UCAS points, A level maths at grade B or above with a minimum 2.1 honours degree expected or obtained in a numerical/semi numerical degree discipline. Equivalent qualifications are accepted
* Ability to work in a team environment with rapidly changing priorities and demands
* An ability to work to tight deadlines
* Ability to balance work and personal life effectively.
* Excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills.
* An interest in investment consulting is essential  Mercer is regulated by the Financial Services Authority and is Investor in People accredited.
