Job Description:
The Buy-Desk Specialist supports the complex sourcing/purchasing of goods and services within Europe, Middle East and Africa for all LOB's within the firm. He/She will work with sourcing managers and internal clients to gather business requirements, quantify service levels, identify deliverables and terms and conditions. He/She shall solicit competitive bids from multiple suppliers using sourcing tools such as the quoting process, electronic tender and/or reverse auction before evaluating/scoring bids. He/She is responsible for negotiating with suppliers on price, service levels, scope of work and terms of business to achieve value for money for the company. This position will require the incumbent to work in a multifaceted and cross-functional environment and the individual must have a firm understanding of sourcing including e-commerce, sourcing strategies and solid knowledge of system technology
Responsibilities
* Direct interaction with (but not limited to) the Strategic Sourcing Group, internal clients, Finance, Legal and Risk Management teams to assess requirements, manage the sourcing process and ensure contract approvals are correctly obtained. * Conduct sourcing transactions including defining scope, gathering market intelligence, drafting of tender documentation, price and contract negotiations, minimising risk and supplier selection for contracts below $750,000. * Act as the sourcing expert within defined categories. This includes developing strong partnerships with senior management of selected preferred or strategic suppliers including supplier management, periodic supplier review and issue resolution. It also includes reviewing category spend and developing relevant sourcing strategies. * Contribute to governance and control programs to ensure business continuity, protection of company assets and compliance within corporate and regulatory policies. * Handle complex and diverse customer, supplier and operational issues where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. * Evaluate overall supplier support and monitor supplier performance across defined commodities and suppliers. * Monitor and report on spend compliance and contract adherence as appropriate. * Participate in continuous learning and professional development. * Some travel may be required
Candidate Requirements:
* Have a strong background in sourcing across multiple commodities such as professional services, software, IT services, indirect spend. * Have a good understanding of sourcing processes, such as electronic tenders and eAuctions, and negotiation of contract terms. * Principle practices applicable to corporate and industry procurement standards & regulations * Company organizational structure, financial regulations, polices and procedures - tied to basic banking business functions and their interdependencies * Have strong analytical and problem solving skills. Be able to formulate conclusions and recommend course of action. * Experience of a range of contract types including master agreements, schedules, task orders and engagement letters. * Be able to understand and interpret contract terms and conditions, in particular those relating to the commercial aspects of the deal. * Have good experience of price negotiations and conflict resolution. * Have experience of utilising transaction systems - preferably Ariba , Beeline * Good oral and written communication skills. * Have strong relationship management skills.
