Job Description:
As part of the UK design team, we are seeking a Graphic Design Executive who will be responsible for collaborating with internal teams & clients to create design solutions for the lxxxxxxxxx.xxm group products & services. You will create innovative visual communications from original concepts through to finished artwork and deliver in-house graphics service to equal a design agency, primarily supporting the marketing department.
Responsibilities vary but the main bulk of work will be to support the UK promotions across lxxxxxxxxx.xxm and Txxxxxxxxxx.xx.xk, through visual design and graphic representation. You will also be responsible for designing page layouts for merchandising and promotional pages across lxxxxxxxxx.xxm and Txxxxxxxxxx.xx.xk. This will incorporate the brand guidelines, some art direction from agencies and business priorities. There will also be the opportunity to work on the design of interfaces, new widgets, site banners / animations and adverts.
On an average day you can expect to be working on the following;
* Hands on design work (creating graphics, flash banners, page mock-ups, etc.) * Storyboarding and wire framing * Brainstorming with internal teams & clients * Maintaining & developing design templates
Candidate Requirements:
Background - we are ideally looking for someone with the following experience & skills;
* Ideally 1-2 years experience in a similar role with all round design skills and knowledge for web and offline design. * At least one year experience in a graphic design role * Highly computer literate in specialist design software including: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Dreamweaver, Flash (Portfolio will be required) * Knowledge of HTML & CSS capabilities and limitations (This isn't a coding role though) * Artistic and visual design The ideal candidate will possess the following skills;
* Superior ability to collaborate visually and facilitate the visual representation of concepts * Solid command of user experience offerings across research and design * Proven proficiency in PhotoShop, Illustrator, Flash, Image Ready/Fireworks (Portfolio will be required) * Knowledge of HTML & CSS capabilities and limitations (This isn't a coding role though) * Web-intensive design background * Ability to take creative direction and produce quality results * Proactive team player * Self motivated, uses initiative and problem solver * Quick thinking and ability to deliver accurate work * Thorough and meticulous with extreme attention to detail * Excellent communication and organizational skills * Ability to work well in teams and with minimal supervision * Ability to work to tight deadlines with a can do attitude * Has a passion for the web and the potential of e-commerce * Some experience of usability testing & user centered design would be highly desirable, although not essential * Educated to degree level or equivalent experience required
