the gts credit risk management team consists of a core group of professional risk managers who develop, design and implement active risk management strategies for the entire business front to back. the team primarily functions out of new york with senior managers in london, singapore and an analyst group in mumbai - india. most of the current work encompasses managing credit, liquidity, intra-day exposure, balance sheet exposure and pro-active portfolio analysis. gts risk management is a vertical unit providing full range of risk advisory services the front line business in their product implementation and partners with operations, technology to mitigate p&l impacts to gts.
role description:
the incumbent will report to the intraday clearing unit (icu) head. icu manages all clients rolled out under the follow the sun (fts)global initiative. as a business credit officer,s/he will have direct responsibility for approving various intraday credit requests related to gts products for icu managed clients. s/he will partner with the regional/local product and client sales management teams, as well as with independent risk, to further roll out the identified clients under fts. s/he will be responsible for the achievement of individual goals and objectives, and to contribute to the success of the goals and objectives of the team. identify opportunities to improve overall operating efficiency and client satisfaction while maintaining appropriate risk levels. supervise a risk analyst/associate as required.
responsibilities: * cash and securities intraday credit excess approvals for icu managed clients: * approve allocations within available fts limits and where required provide credit approvals for excesses on gts credit products daylight overdrafts, world link, commercial paper and securities settlements. * liaise with, csm, client service to determine cover for excesses as appropriate. * work together with client sales managers in right sizing the clearing limits for the assigned clients, and present such recommendations to pam and firm/girm for final approval * monitor and control collateralized credit solutions for specific critical clients. * review standard overdrafts and ensure they are resolved through interface with relationship units, account managers, financial controllers and or customer service departments. * provide weekly status updates to senior management related to outstanding overdrafts. * work with the regional credit risk head on various initiatives within the business unit, in particular those related to reducing and controlling the credit risk in gts products * supervise, mentor and support an analyst in providing research, analytical and reporting support * participate in global systems rollouts, training and support relating to credit risk management
Candidate Requirements:
Qualifications * undergraduate degree in business/finance/accounting/ economics (or the appropriate experience equivalent) required. mba desired. * preference for a seasoned credit officer with proven client evaluation and credit analysis experience, alternatively a person with detailed work experience in risk, capital markets, finance / accounting / economics / statistics or project management required. * superior oral and written communication skills & the ability to think critically, independently and analytically. * self-starter with the ability to work within and across teams/locations to accomplish goals in a timely manner. * excellent knowledge of banking products, in particular gts products, ms office tools, ssuperior pc skills and ability to interact with, and respond to, senior management and external corporate clients. * knowledge on any of following citi specific tools: is credit control panel, rapid, smartwin, ccs (securities), secore, rbcs would be an advantage. valuing diversity:
