Solutions architect

the role:

the solutions architect works within a core team of architects performing pre-sales, architecture, design and delivery duties around java middleware & business intelligence, customer intelligence and risk based technologies. ideally you will be an experienced architecture professional with a background in business intelligence or the use of analytics within a business, who has directly worked with customers to define requirements, design the architecture to solve the requirements, proof of concepts and then assist in the implementation of the solution.

with a strong understanding of how technology can solve business issues you will be able to identify and reduce risk, and increase value to the customer in the space of enterprise intelligence. your breadth of knowledge will incorporate as far as possible the customers' existing products, partner products and (COMPANY NAME) products to enable them to develop high level implementation roadmaps to describe how customers can transition to proposed solutions.

with strong capability in designing and/or implementing medium to complex robust, enterprise-wide architectures and solutions you will also be able to diagnose and problem solve complex issues within such environments.  experienced in working in cross functional, multi-disciplinary teams you will have excellent communication skills that enable you to influence and negotiate successfully within this environment.

proven experience of a wide range of it technologies and hardware infrastructures will have given you hands-on knowledge of a number of the following technology areas, enabling you to create robust architecture diagrams:
-      security models (inc ldap, active directory etc), security architecture
-      business intelligence - business objects, cognos, oracle, spss, etc
-      communications and networking protocols
-      methodologies (zachman, togaf, ief)
-      corporate it standards (itil, w3c, cwm (common warehousing model))
-      process modelling
-      data modelling

you will also have experience in at least one of the following:

-      risk architectures
-      crm  technologies - e-business suite, siebel
-      business intelligence and business insight - epm, 'performance management', 'predictive enterprise', 'enterprise architect', dsdm, ssadm, agile, prince 2
-      analytic services - modelling
-      data management - tdwi
flexible and adaptable you will have a consultative approach that will enable you to manage client relationships effectively and have the gravitas to deal professionally with challenges faced.

with strong experience of consulting and/or selling software services at a senior level the successful candidate will use their excellent communication skills to build good working relationships with clients, peers, partners, staff, etc.

good project management skills including planning, budgeting, scheduling, evaluating and the ability to work with diverse groups across locations as well as the ability to get things done through others is a must.
